Life at Mondello beach

On a trip to Sicily I discovered a beach called Mondello 7 miles from the city centre of Palermo. I was delighted to see such a variety of activities and people enjoying themselves from the very young to the old. I decided I must return and spend time developing a project concept of “Life at the beach”.

During the summer of 2023, Jishnu Mukhoti, my postgraduate student tenant, brought his parents from India to the UK for a vacation and, at the same time, Priyanka, his partner and future wife, was visited by her mother and brother, also from India.

My friendship with Jishnu and Priyanka cajoled me into commemorating their families’ visit with a series of professionally produced portraits. Happily, they were very pleased with the results, an experience which has been quite gratifying for me, so much so that it is my intention to continue this series around yet another event, this time on the occasion of Jishnu receiving his doctorate at his university degree graduation ceremony.
