These photographs were taken in one of Palermo, Sicily's, most famous food street markets - Il Capo. It is one of Palermo's four main Arabic-heritage street markets. Its stalls displaying fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish, laid out in carefully choreographed arrangements.
It feels as if time has stood still for the last 100 years except for alas, for those scooters meandering between the crowds, delivering to multiple restaurants.
