Parklife Portrait Interviews

Recently I have been making photographs of people who use the University Parks and asking them what the Parks means to them.

Interview with Elizabeth Woodward

Denis: How would you describe The Parks to a friend who hasn't been there yet?

Elizabeth: I think I'd say that it is a really outstanding urban space, one that you can get lost in and they let the grass grow long, and they allow areas of wildlife, I mean rough planting that encourages bees and butterflies. It's the variety of it, and then there's the formal beds and the beautiful avenues of Catalpa trees, (it's got everything really), yes it has, I just think you couldn't find a much better park in the centre of a city.

Note: A series of interviews were carried out with people who walk The Parks on a regular basis asking them several questions with the most meaningful one shown here.
